AIMS - Accelerate Innovation in Material- & Life-Sciences

The ego. -KONZEPT project AIMS - "Accelerate Innovation in Life-Sciences and Material-Sciences" is funded by the Ministry of Economics, Science and Digitization of Saxony-Anhalt with funds from the European Union (ESF) and coordinated by TGZ Halle GmbH. It is a model project to support sustainable growth and the internationalization of young science-based companies from Saxony-Anhalt. The project offers concrete support for companies in the lead markets of health and medicine, chemistry and bioeconomics, nutrition and agriculture.


Project contents

Infrastructure and technology access
Development of a knowledge pool of specialist knowledge specific to the lead market, in particular with regard to specific legal and regulatory frameworks as well as professional product development

Professionalization and management competence
Developing and imparting management competence specific to the lead market in order to professionalize corporate management and access to the relevant specialists and experts (differentiating and supplementing the existing offerings)

Lead-market specific networks
Establishment of supraregional and international networks to enable access to markets and cooperation partners

Market growth strategies and internationalization
Support of the company-specific development of internationalization strategies as well as the transfer of target market-specific know-how and intercultural competences

Project participation

Target group of the project are young technology and knowledge-based companies located in Saxony-Anhalt, up to five years after market entry.

The industry focus is on the lead markets of health and medicine, chemistry and bioeconomics as well as food and agriculture and the relevant cross-sectional sectors and technologies (e. g. software development for the target lead markets).

The participating companies must meet the following criteria for admission:

  • Headquarters in Saxony-Anhalt
  • Not older than 5 years when starting a project
  • Knowledge-based and/or technology-oriented companies
  • Industry focus on health, medicine, chemistry, bioeconomics, nutrition or agriculture, cross-sectional industries (especially IT) 
  • Growth potential
